June 9, 2022 – More houses that are prone to flooding on Tybee Island are going to be raised 12 feet in the air with funding from a FEMA house lifting grant. Twenty-two homes have been accepted for the grant so far with 27 more still awaiting approval. This funding follows a previous FEMA grant that allowed 12 homes on Tybee to be raised in 2020.
