August 6th, 2023 – CITRA’s PI, Dr. Felix Santiago-Collazo, and the summer intern from IRIS, Erin Gavin, went to Tybee Island in Georgia and deployed new monitoring equipment. They installed three new groundwater well loggers, a complete meteorological station, and a soil moisture sensor. Now the team can thoroughly investigate the relationship between groundwater, tides, and rainfall on the island to design green infrastructure in coastal communities better.
